Requirements for Wholesaling Alcohol and Wine Distribution
To operate as an alcohol distributor in Vietnam, you must meet these conditions:
- Business Establishment: Register your company according to Vietnamese law.
- Warehouse Requirements: Maintain a warehouse or network of warehouses with a minimum total floor area of 150m².
- Food Safety Compliance: Ensure all wine products meet food safety standards.
- Distribution Network: Establish operations in at least two provinces or centrally-affiliated cities, with one wholesaler per province/city.
- Partnership Agreements: Obtain a written agreement or reference from an alcohol producer, distributor, or foreign supplier.
- Safety Standards: Fulfill fire and environmental safety regulations as required by law.
Procedures for Wine Distribution Licensing
Step 1: Prepare Your Documents
Your license application for wine distribution must include:
- A completed application form (specimen No. 1).
- A copy of your enterprise registration certificate or equivalent legal documents.
- Proof of warehouse ownership or lease agreements for storage and retail locations.
- Food safety declarations for the wine products you plan to distribute.
- Agreements or commitments with alcohol producers or distributors.
- Documents proving compliance with fire and environmental safety standards.
Step 2: Submit Your Application
Submit the complete set of documents to the licensing authority.
- The authority will review and approve your license within 15 days of receiving a valid application.
- If rejected, a written explanation will be provided.
- If additional documents are needed, the authority will request them within three days.
